ABOUT JANET
Janet Stone has more than 30 years of professional experience working within the affordable housing and sustainable development policy, program and development arenas. She managed the development of new affordable housing projects, overseeing all predevelopment activities including financing, entitlements, community outreach, and programming. Her experience also includes developing strategic policy initiatives aimed at increasing the production of affordable and supportive housing within a sustainable and equitable community framework.
Since 2018, Janet has worked as an independent affordable housing consultant. Her clients include the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo, the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo, and 21 Elements, a San Mateo County collaboration involving all 21 jurisdictions in the county.
Janet is currently working as a consultant to 21 Elements, helping a number of cities to better deploy their Housing Trust funds. She is also working with Baird + Driskell Community Planning to assist the City of Half Moon Bay with their strategic planning for affordable housing development.
